Fundamentals of Scholarship

A five-part workshop series focused on enhancing core scholarship knowledge, skills and attitudes. This series covers Boyer’s Model of Scholarship, searching and finding literature, and navigating literature using reference management software. It aims to foster member exchange and form communities of practice around mutual interests and practice areas.

Scholarly Writing 

A six-part workshop series designed to help scholars effectively tell the story of their scholarly work. This workshop covers the foundations of scientific writing with a focus on narrative synthesis. It is tailored to support participants in applying their skills as they learn them through hands-on practice.  

Participants have the opportunity to conduct and write a narrative synthesis for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Evidence Synthesis

A six-part workshop series designed to introduce scholars to research methods that bring together all relevant information on a research question. This workshop covers the foundations of evidence synthesis in clinical and social/education science traditions to identify gaps in knowledge, establish an evidence base for best-practice guidance and help inform practitioners. It is tailored to support participants in applying their skills as they learn them through hands-on practice.  

Participants have the opportunity to conduct and write an evidence synthesis protocol, which outlines the rational, hypothesis and planned methodology.
